Recent years have seen the arrival of exciting developments in the diagnosis and treatment of dementia, including new disease-specific biomarkers and disease modifying therapies for Alzheimer’s disease, approved for clinical use in many parts of the world.
But what might the future options be for dementia treatment in our local context? How can we geriatricians best prepare for this, and what do we need to know in order to have informed discussions with our patients and caregivers?
This presentation will present the current landscape of diagnosis and treatment for dementia, in particular Alzheimer’s disease, including therapeutics in clinical use, and novel interventions in development or early phase studies.
